How long do I need to wear my retainer?

Most patients wear their retainer full-time for the first 4–6 months after treatment, then shift to nighttime wear. To keep your results long-term, plan on wearing it nightly indefinitely — teeth continue shifting throughout life.

What if I lose my retainer?

Don't wait. The longer you go without one, the more your teeth can shift. Call us and we'll scan you for a replacement quickly — usually before any noticeable movement has happened.

Can I get a retainer if I had braces somewhere else?

Yes. We don't need your original orthodontic records. We can scan your teeth as they are now and make a retainer that fits your current bite.

How do I clean my retainer?

Brush it gently with a soft toothbrush and cool water, no toothpaste, which is too abrasive. Soak it in retainer cleaner once a week. Never use hot water.
